[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_row]\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FEDERAL EXPRESS FACILITY<br \/>\nDurango, Colorado<\/p>\n<p>Office\/Warehouse<br \/>\nNew Construction<br \/>\nSquare Feet: 12,000<br \/>\nCost: $1 million<br \/>\nProject Date: 1995<\/p>\n<p>Federal Express needed a facility to serve its customers in Southern Colorado. Intermodal Structures, the<br \/>\ndeveloper for this project, hired BlueSky Studio to create a building that efficiently served the needs of<br \/>\nFedEx, blended into the landscape of a Durango industrial park and also echoed the regional architecture<br \/>\nof the Four Corners area.<\/p>\n<p>The design concept was to provide a very economical building that also reflected the stylistic requirements<br \/>\nof Federal Express in a modern and \u201cforward reaching\u201d structure. The design sought to seamlessly meld<br \/>\nthe modern and industrial with the Four Corners vernacular styles of Mesa Verde, mountain towns and the<br \/>\nwestern slope.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One concept used was the front entry \u201cfalse wall\u201d facade, architecture typical of Colorado<br \/>\nmining towns.
