{"id":5978,"date":"2021-12-29T20:53:09","date_gmt":"2021-12-29T20:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blueskystudio.com\/?post_type=portfolio&#038;p=5978"},"modified":"2022-03-24T13:47:20","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T13:47:20","slug":"fed-ex-3","status":"publish","type":"portfolio","link":"http:\/\/blueskystudio.com\/?portfolio=fed-ex-3","title":{"rendered":"Fed Ex &#8211; Pueblo"},"content":{"rendered":"[vc_row][vc_column]<div class=\"shortcode-wrapper shortcode-title clearfix\"><h3 class=\"hb-heading \"><span>Fed Ex &#8211; Pueblo, CO<\/span><\/h3><\/div>[\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column_text]\n<p>FEDERAL EXPRESS FACILITY<br \/>\nPueblo, Colorado<\/p>\n<p>Office \/ Distribution Warehouse<br \/>\nNew construction<br \/>\n1996<br \/>\n8000 SF<br \/>\nCost: $232,000<\/p>\n<p>BlueSky Studio and the project developer, Wally Hultin, had a lot of fun with this design process.<br \/>\nWe explored images that expressed the evolution of communication in the West from the<br \/>\nhorseshoe (a symbol for the Pony Express) to the hubcap (representative of the automobile) to<br \/>\ndigital technology (demonstrated by a satellite dish).<\/p>\n<p>At one point, the design incorporated half-moon hubcap shapes along the roofline, similar to a style of Navajo jewelry.<\/p>\n<p>Although this concept did not end up part of the building, the idea had its place in the creative process.<br \/>\nIn the end, this building, an otherwise plain box, was streamlined through the use of specially<br \/>\ncolored concrete block and the inclusion of a curved entry wall.
